The MTA would like to thank all of those individuals and organizations that came out in November 2008 to comment on the Red Line AA/DEIS. Over 500 citizens attended the four hearings, which were held during the second and third weeks of November at various locations throughout the study corridor. 159 citizens used these hearings to have their comments recorded in front of the hearing audience, or privately with a court reporter. While the hearings provided the public an opportunity to comment on the project, citizens and organizations had four different ways to submit a formal comment: testimony at the hearings, submitting written comments to the hearing officer, sending a letter or e-mail to the MTA. By the comment closing date of January 5, 2009, the MTA had received more than 650 comments and several petitions. These comments will now be analyzed and addressed by the MTA and will all become part of the formal DEIS record. A summary of the comments received during the submission period is available for download here. |
